The all-glass balustrade with maximum safety
The Schüco AR FG 300 balustrade system combines the elegance and aesthetic of an all-glass solution with simple fabrication and installation. It also functions as a safety barrier.
The Schüco AR FG 300 can be installed on the floor, in front of the intermediate slab or recessed into the floor. The latter in particular supports a minimalist design by focusing on the glazing, and ensures exceptional visual continuity and transparency.
For the other two options which have visible aluminium profiles, separate cover profiles provide a choice of different surface finish designs and colours for the outside and inside, so that the product can be fully integrated into the surroundings.
The innovative system for aligning and locking the glazing in place enables full installation from the inside, which guarantees a high degree of safety for the installer as well as fast and easy installation.
The Schüco AR FG 300 meets the latest safety regulations and is suitable for use in residential construction, public and private offices and buildings.
Schüco AR FG 300
All-glass balustrade construction
Design features:
Safety barrier in form of laminated safety glass panes in accordance with DIN 18008-1 – 4 (German regulations for the use of safety barrier glazing (TRAV))
The construction consists of extruded aluminium profiles with free-standing, reversible glass panes with a handrail or edge protection.
Glazing as 16 mm VSG made of 2 x 8 mm ESG or 20 mm VSG made of 2 x 10 mm ESG or TVG.
With general building authority test certificate (AbP) and structural considerations.
Edge protection profile for protecting the top free glass edge is required in accordance with DIN 18008-4, attachment F.
Load-bearing structure:
The load-bearing structure for the all-glass balustrade construction consists of a U-shaped aluminium profile and a glass clamp.
The U-shaped load-bearing profile has recesses and drill holes and serves to support the glass clamp and the aluminium cover profiles.
The glass clamp is inserted into the load-bearing profile from above and screw-fixed.
Anchoring of the construction can be surface-mounted / recessed / forward-mounted.
Design:
90° and 135° corners (inside and outside)
Profile dimensions:
Load-bearing profile, basic depth 91 mm
Load-bearing profile, face width 129.5 mm
Glass clamp, face width 110 mm
Additional profiles, face widths:
Cover profile, surface-mounted 138 mm
Cover profile, forward-mounted 235.3 mm
Aluminium U-shaped handrail 38 mm
Edge protection, bonded 9 mm
When planning and designing the safety barrier, observe all the provisions of the applicable regional building regulations (LBO), ETB guidelines, TRLV and workplace guidelines.
In addition the following must be adhered to:
Regulations for special uses, such as legal requirements for public buildings and the workplace, stress group regulations, generally-acknowledged technical regulations, e.g. DIN standards and other specific guidelines and recommendations, such as the ETB guideline on “safety barriers” etc.
