Schüco AWS optimized block window system: a high level of transparency and narrow face widths for design-oriented, sustainable building envelopes

The Schüco AWS 75 BS.SI+ optimized (Block System, Super Insulated) block window system for the 75 mm basic depth is part of the Schüco AWS system platform and enables high energy efficiency and architectural requirements to be fulfilled through its future-oriented, optimised U values and an elegant design without visible vent contours.

Thanks to newly developed thermal insulation technology, our optimised systems achieve a high level of energy efficiency. This significantly improves the thermal performance values compared to the AWS standard system.

The AWS 75 BS.SI+ optimized block window system thereby sets standards in terms of planning and design flexibility for the construction of design-oriented, sustainable building envelopes.

Schüco AWS 75 BS.SI+ optimized, highly thermally insulated aluminium block window system to passive house standard
With a basic depth of 75 mm.

Design features:
Integrated system with vent frame positioned behind the stop of the outer frame
The length of the opening vent is equal to the length of the fixed glazing and/or infill.
Face-fitted vent frame on the room side rebated by 10 mm from the frame edge.
The vent frame is designed as a single isolator composite.
Thermally insulating bars with multiple hollow chambers are located in the vent and form the stop for the optimised thermally insulated gasket.
The outer frame contains a highly thermally insulated insulation zone.
The glass should be partially bonded to the insulating bar, depending on the unit size and weight.
PVC-U glazing beads are used in the vent for optimised thermal insulation.
The joints of the externally positioned glass retention beads are covered with a glazing gasket in a vulcanised gasket frame design.

In order to best meet the respective thermal and production requirements, three different gasket combinations can be used.
– Two-part centre gasket combination consisting of a TPE centre gasket and a PE insulation profile.
– Single-part TPE centre gasket
– Single-part centre gasket or gasket frame made of microcellular rubber
